Tez is the sound of multi-instrumentalist artist, and producer Owen Mellett from Sandwich, Kent. Playing guitar from a young age, Tez became involved in several musical projects, went on to achieve qualifications in music technology and worked greatly within live sound to strengthen musical skills and network. With a newfound drive for creative expression, Owen began focusing primarily on his own musical workings, birthing the sound of Tez from his bedroom studio in the small village he grew up in with his genre-spanning sound has been described as “ambient, and dreamy."

Following his debut broadcast on BBC Introducing in 2022, and the popularity of the single ‘Kaleidoscopes.’ Tez continues to work on his own sound, motivated by the power of personal expression through music and creating a sound true to himself whilst taking influence for this record from the likes of Foals, Palace and Ben Howard.

Beginning to collaborate up with local musicians Joe Martin (drums), Dan Hughes (guitar), and Oscar Saunders (bass) in early 2023, this four-piece ensemble is thrilled to bring their bedroom sound to a larger audience. With the addition of these talented musicians, the band's music has evolved into something even more dynamic and captivating. They are eager to share their new sound with fans and newcomers alike.
